INEC guidelines for 2019 general election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released seven-step guidelines to guide voters as Nigerians prepare to head to the polls in five weeks.
The commission released the procedure to the public on Thursday, January 10, 2019, with a guide on how to cast votes.
Below is the list:
1-Voting time is 8:00am-200: pm.
2-One Man one vote.
3-If you don’t have Permanent Voter’s Card, you can’t vote.
4-Accreditation and voting will take place at the same time.
5-If your name is not in INEC Electronic Voters’ Register, you can’t vote.
6-If Card-reader fail to read your PVC, you can’t vote.
7-If thereafter, the Card-reader fails to authenticate you by reading your fingerprint you will vote (FR).
8-If the Card-reader fails to read your card please locate the appropriate Polling Unit where you are supposed to vote.
9-Don’t enter a voting Cubicle with Phone, Camera or image capturing gadgets.
10-Don’t vote twice.
11-Pregnant Women, Nursing Mother, Aged Person and PWD are to be considered.
12-Roll your Ballot Paper inward, flatten and cast.
13-Don’t carry a weapon to the voting centre.
14-Cooperate with Election Personnel, Observers and Security Agents.
i-Ballot Box with red cover is for President.
ii-Ballot Box with green cover is for Reps
iii-Ballot Box with black cover is for Senate.
