Brief Description

The Nigerian Air Force is a crucial component of the country’s air-focused military. It was formally established in January 1964 with technical assistance from West Germany. Initially, the Nigerian Air Force functioned as a transport unit, with aircrews being trained in countries such as Canada, Ethiopia, and Pakistan. It did not acquire combat capabilities until 1966 when it received several Mig-17 aircraft from the Soviet Union. Today, the Nigerian Air Force operates a variety of aircraft, including transport, trainer, helicopter, and fighter planes.

The Nigerian Air Force salaries are usually categorised based on their ranks and educational qualifications. The commissioned officers for the Nigerian Air Force with their respective salaries are thus as follows;
